There has been some progression with the colors since we last checked on Saturday! This cooler weather is sure helping move things along, and some areas of northern Minnesota are nearing peak colors but based on official reports we are not exactly there just yet, but getting close by the day! Until then, enjoy the early colors that have come up across the Upper Midwest, with some of our CSWX counties showing a small percent of trees starting to turn, I also saw a few subtle colors myself which supports this. As always, be sure to look forward to upcoming fall colors because the current pattern supports most of the Midwest having some below normal temperatures for the week with frost probable tomorrow through Thursday night in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois, with locations away from any urban areas/Great Lakes favored, this could really speed things up with the colors here. We will however be looking at a warmup toward this weekend but this cooldown we are having now sure should get our fall colors going for now! -TW
